Preschool at St. Mary's

Our preschool provides a welcoming, structured environment where children grow through hands-on learning, play, and faith-based instruction, all within the supportive community of a PreK-8 Catholic school. Children learn best when they feel safe, engaged, and supported, and our program balances structure with flexibility to meet each child where they are.
  • Blended PreK 3 & 4 program (children must be at least 3 years old by September 1 of the school year in which they're enrolling)
  • Limited to 20 students
  • Full-day and half-day options available
  • Part of St. Mary’s Catholic School, serving and educating students through Grade 8 since 1958

Faith is naturally woven into daily learning in age-appropriate ways. Preschool students are introduced to prayer, kindness, gratitude, and respect, helping them understand God’s love while building a strong moral foundation that grows throughout their years at St. Mary’s.

Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT Is the student-to-teacher ratio?
The student-to-teacher ratio in the preschool class will be at most 10:1. We'll have a full-time lead teacher (and a teacher's aide depending on the class size), and will enroll a maximum of 20 students.
Will Preschool Students be required to wear a uniform?
Preschool students will be asked to wear a St. Mary "spiritwear" shirt, comfortable pants (or shorts), socks, and gym shoes. No clothing with rips or holes and no open-toe shoes.
Will there be a snack break/snack time during class?
Yes, students in both the full-day and half-day programs will be asked to bring a healthy snack they can enjoy in the mid-late morning.
Will Preschool Students go to mass?
No, we will not have preschool students go to the weekly all-school Mass. There might be opportunities on Holy Days of Obligation or other days where preschool students participate in Mass, but that will be addressed with parents beforehand on a case-by-case basis.
Will preschool students have hot lunch options?
Yes, parents who have preschool students in the full-day program will be able to order hot lunch for their students. Lunch will be eaten in the room. Students in the half-day program will not eat lunch at school.
what supplies or special items do i need to provide for my preschool student?
School supply lists for preschool students will be shared in the summer before the start of the school year. Preschool students will have some specific items we'll ask parents to provide, including a blanket, pillow, change of clothes and socks, etc.
hOw will pick-up and drop-off work for preschool?
All preschool students will follow the standard drop-off policy that we have for K-8 students (car line at the back of the school). Preschool students in the full-day program will also be picked up in carline in the parking lot at the back of the school (same procedure we follow for K-8 students), with preschool parents having a designated pick-up line. Students in the half-day program will need to be signed out and picked up from the front office.
Do preschool students need to be potty trained?
Yes, all students enrolling in our PreK 3-4 program need to be fully potty trained. We have a bathroom facility located directly next to the classroom for quick and easy bathroom access for the students.
